Why anyone else should read this Book?

By short stories mean really short stories. In 30 pages, you will be done with all of them. 10 pages a story, not a big deal right?

Nella Larsen’s stories are not typical African-American literature. You won’t find outright racism, poverty and injustice but you will definitely notice an undercurrent of all of them. Nella’s characters usually roam in upper circles of society , but they still feel the heaviness of their colored skin. I think this is a very unique take on a part of society untouched so far and should be given its time of the day.

With very few published works, Nella is considered a prominent figure of Harlem Renaissance. It won’t be if not for her amazing work.

So pick up Nella Larsen, read a story or two, and let me know how did you like her.
